Biography – Founder Mitch Lavin

I have been playing guitar and bass for over 30¬†years. Over those years, I have performed with numerous bands and played in some of Chicago’s most reputable local venues including: The Cubby Bear, Elbow Room, The Beat Kitchen, Space in Evanston, Durty Nellies (Palatine), Hog Head McDunnas, and the Double Door. I have been teaching guitar professionally since 1999 and have a current client base of over 50 full and part-time students.

My Gear

My guitar collection includes: Paul Reed Smith Hollowbody II, Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, Tom Anderson Cobra, USACG Stratocaster, Collings OM2H-C, Peavy Wolfgang Archtop, Ovation Elite Standard and a Musicman Sterling bass. I use a Dr. Z Maz 8 and a Fractal Axe-FxII XL+for gigging and session work.
